Backyards and Bocce Ball
Tarek and Christina spent more than $150,000 renovating the backyard of this Riverside mini-mansion. Think the bocce ball court will make it worth the investment for buyers?
BEFORE: The Exterior
The front of the home was a bit underwhelming from the curb, and the white exterior paint was a bit too stark for Christina's design plans to honor the house's spanish style.
BEFORE: The Exterior
The lot of this Riverside home is one of the largest the El Moussas have ever worked with on a flip.
BEFORE: The Backyard
Talk about a blank slate! The 2,500-square-foot home has an equally massive backyard space for Tarek and Christina to transform into an outdoor oasis.
Finishing Touches
Tarek does work on the outside on staging and showing day.
AFTER: The Backyard
Remember what this backyard looked like before? We don't, either.
AFTER: The Exterior
With the roof and driveway in good shape, all that was needed on the exterior was fresh paint to create consistency with the house's neutral interior.
AFTER: The Backyard
Extensive hardscaping, a brand new pool, a barbecue and bar area, a fire pit and more now fill out this massive backyard space.
AFTER: The Backyard
The entertaining and eating area comes with a curved bar top and a custom dark wood pergola that complements the trim on the house.
AFTER: The Backyard
There's plenty of room for dinner party guests at this dining table under the pergola.
AFTER: The Backyard
The curved bar area includes a gas grill and the same tile accents seen on the fire pit and the pool.
AFTER: The Backyard
More seating! This lounge area off the living area is the perfect spot for Sunday afternoon reading or cocktails.
AFTER: The Backyard
Pops of color from accent pillows brighten up the outdoor space's neutral patterns.
AFTER: The Backyard
And how about that view?
AFTER: The Backyard
The brand new in-ground pool is surrounded by new landscaping, an immediate upgrade from the former dirt-only backyard.
AFTER: The Backyard
Loungers with storage line the pool for optimum sight lines.
AFTER: The Backyard
Despite all of the new features added to the backyard, there was still room left over for this last-minute bocce ball court.
AFTER: The Backyard
Can't have a California backyard without a fire pit. This one is situated toward the back of the property with a million-dollar view.
Kick Back
This flip was one of Tarek and Christina's most expensive -- renovations of the house and the backyard totaled more than $200,000 -- and their profit was significantly smaller than most. But Tarek claimed it as one of his favorite projects to date.
