Materials and Tools:
(4) 7/8” wood dowels
(2) ¾” PVC crosses
(8) ¾” PVC T’s
miter box with hand saw
contact cement
lime green spray paint
dark walnut stain
paintbrush and rag
½” self adhesive vinyl bumpers
30” round glass tabletop
tape measure and pencil

Cut Dowels
Measure and cut 8 dowels at 12”, 4 at 10” and 8 at 2” using a miter box with hand saw.

Prepare Dowels
Sand rough edges of each wood piece using a sanding block. Apply stain to wood and wipe with clean rag to preserve wood’s natural grain.

Paint PVC
Spray paint all of the PVC fittings lime green.

Create Base and Top
Apply contact cement to one end of a 12” dowel and insert into one side of the PVC cross. Repeat this step with 3 more 12” dowels to create a cross with wood dowels coming out of all 4 sides of the PVC. Repeat this process with the remaining PVC cross and 12” dowels.

Attach Top to Base
On one end of the cross, apply glue to the dowel and insert into a PVC T, making sure that the T is perpendicular to the cross. Repeat this step on the remaining 3 dowels. Repeat this process on the other cross. Connect the two crosses by gluing and inserting four 10” wood dowels into the top of each of the 4 PVC T’s. Glue the other ends of the four 10” dowels and slide the other cross assembly on top of the wood dowels, essentially creating a three dimensional “X”.

Finishing Touches
Glue and insert 2” wood dowels into all of the open ends of the T’s on both sides (top and bottom) (8 total). Add ½” self-adhesive vinyl bumpers to the tips of the 2” wood dowels (one side will provide cushioning for the feet, while the other provides grip and cushioning for the glass top). Add the round glass top and admire your finished product.
