Traditional Bathroom with Bold Wallpaper

Bold blue-and-white wallpaper wraps this cozy bathroom, and red accents pop against the otherwise cool palette. Dark blue trim ties in with the wallpaper, a custom Roman shade provides privacy.

What did the homeowners want the most from this remodel?

This bathroom is perfect for overnight guests since it has a tub, but it also serves as a second bathroom. Because it is just off the foyer, the owners wanted it to be attractive and functional.

What was the biggest obstacle that you overcame in this project?

Two doors took up an entire wall of this room so we closed off the door to the guest room and left the one to the hall. We installed a much needed towel bar in the new space.

What did you learn from this makeover?

This guest bathroom isn’t used very often and didn’t need the usual amount of storage space. I designed a vanity with an open lower shelf for towels instead. I also removed the crown molding which gave the room a clean, more modern look.
