The family who live here wanted whimsy and color in their home, so the designer chose a rosy pink for the living room walls. The color is universally flattering and a pretty neutral, pairing well with patterns and dark accent shades.

Mauve grasscloth in the foyer immediately set a colorful, artistic tone for the whole house; it was a traditional material in an unexpected color. Designers contrasted that color and texture with a sculptural table and compelling art.

This small room is just off the kitchen, a place where the kids of the family can play while parents make dinner. Upholstery is kid-friendly and tables are round (no corners to bonk into).

The homeowner requested a green bedroom, so the designer used a very light green wash on the walls, then accented it with more intense hues: plum, teal, gold and darker green. The results is a restful, creative space.

The designer used lighting and area rugs to give definition to this light-filled space so that it could be lived in to its full potential. Furniture has a light, sculptural feel with plenty of color, but doesn't compete with the wonderful view.

In the kitchen, the island was painted blue, the cabinets white and all new hardware was added.
