No Ordinary Ornaments: Office Supply DIYs
No one wants to bring work home over the holidays, but this DIY may have you thinking twice.
Brighten up the home or office with these fun office supply ornaments. In just a few simple steps, brads, sticky notes and shipping tags take on new life for the holiday season.
Disco at Christmas
Begin by sticking gold brads into a small foam ball, until almost entirely covered. Before fully covering, use two brads to secure a 4-inch piece of ribbon. And the most creative office ornament award goes to ... you!
Deck the Halls in Sticky Notes
Use scissors to cut sticky notes in half so that both halves have a sticky side to them. Wrap the strips of sticky notes around twine a few inches apart, alternating colors as you go. Once all the strips are in place, cut a triangle out of the hanging side of the note to create a gorgeous garland!
Angelic Paper Clip
Begin by painting a butterfly clip gold. Once dry, loop a string around the clip and slide a wooden bead down the string. Tie off the string at the top, and this delicate angel ornament is ready for display!
Brush gold-leaf adhesive around the perimeter of a shipping tag and let dry until tacky. Use a foam brush to dab gold leaf flakes onto the adhesive. Brush away excess. Write various holiday-themed sayings such as “joy,” “cheer” and “merry” to make this season bright!
Pro tip: Swap out the holiday themed words for names for an adorable gift tag alternative.
Poppin’ Pencil Star
No tree is complete without a star on top! Cut pencils in half to create smaller sizes and sharpen each pencil on both ends. Put a small bead of hot glue on one end of each pencil and stick them into a foam ball until the ball is completely covered. Top off the tree and call it a day. Your “work” here is done!
