Materials Needed:

bowl
whisk
measuring cups
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup corn starch
1 cup citric acid
lavender essential oil
silicone mold
water in a spray bottle
food coloring (optional)
lavender buds (optional)

Yield: approximately 15 1" cubed bath fizzies

Mix Dry Ingredients

Stir first three ingredients together in a large bowl with a whisk until thoroughly mixed.

Moisten Mixture With Water

Spray dry mixture with water in a spritzer or spray bottle (Image 1). Mix ingredients with one hand as water is sprayed with the other. Add water slowly, to avoid adding too much. Enough water has been added when mixture will keep its shape when squeezed (Image 2). Tip: An old hairspray bottle works great.

Add Extras

Add food coloring (4 drops blue/8 drops red) to lend a pale lavender hue (Image 1), desired amount of essential lavender oil and approximately 2-3 tablespoons dried lavender buds (Image 2). Knead ingredients until coloring and oil are distributed evenly.

Press Mixture Into Mold

Press mixture into silicone mold until each section is tightly packed (Image 1). Press additional dried lavender buds into top of fizzies, so they are visible when cubes are removed from tray (Image 2). Allow fizzies to harden for a couple of hours, then gently unmold (Image 3).  Store in an airtight container till you're ready to package them for gift presentation (Image 4).
