How to Make a Perfect Party-Ready Pinata
Customizing your next event is as simple as ABC with this DIY initial pinata tutorial.
This craft is so cute that you might be tempted not to crack it open, but you should! Fill it with your favorite treats or gift it to someone special using their initials and include all their favorite goodies.
- Tissue paper
Make the Letter
Draw your initial on a piece of cardboard. I sized a 12” uppercase A. Cut out your letter, and then trace and cut out an exact duplicate of the first letter. Create the dimensional side pieces that will connect your two letter shapes. Trim & fold pieces to fit and secure with tape.
Add the Paper
Fringe selected tissue paper into 2” strips. Glue down a layer of tissue paper on the base of the letter, and then repeat application of desired layers. Cut a strip on the top of cardboard and fill with candy, and then seal with tape.
Complete the tissue fringe pattern until the cardboard is covered, then hang your pinata and get the party started!
