Wardrobe Stylist Provides Five Closet Organizing Tips
Wardrobe consultant and stylist Kayla Dane shares some of her top closet organizing and design tips. If you find yourself looking for a one-of-a-kind space or need to add a sense of orderliness, check out these ideas.
Use Boxes
Not only are boxes a great way to organize items, they are also great for storing items not worn every day, as well as for off-season or fall pieces, Dane says.
Deploy Drawer Dividers
These drawer dividers help to sort items worn on a daily basis. "I love using these in combination with file folding to organize T-shirts, athleisure, etc," Dane says.
Think About Hat Storage
Kayla Dane says to ensure your hats stay in top-notch shape, deploy hat boxes, "Or The Home Edit clear bins to keep hats in good shape (and free of dust!)."
Organize By the Colors of the Rainbow
"This is my favorite way to organize hanging pieces as it’s not only visually appealing, but it’s easier to style outfits this way."
Divide and Conquer
"For sweaters, I like to use shelf dividers to keep each stack in its place. This not only saves room, but it almost forces you to keep your sweaters organized and folded (instead of tossing them back on the shelf)," says Dane.
