Find One-of-a-Kind Pieces

Jennifer Markowitz from JNR Designs says, “my design goal this year will be to find trends outside of my phone and computer. When COVID hit, all sorts of traveling halted, as well as visiting my favorite museums and buildings. I draw so much inspiration from what I see in the world, that I cannot wait to get back out there!”

Declutter and Reorganize

Interior deisgner Mimi Meacham explains, “less is more! With a family of five plus dog, I feel like I'm drowning in clutter and stuff. In 2022, I am vowing to clean out every room in the house and only keep what we really need to function, as well as what inspires the overall design of our home. I'm hoping this resolution will create more peace and breathing room at home, which we desperately need.

Furthermore, she says, "with my clients, I am planning to let a few statement pieces do the 'talking' in each space and then let the room grow and evolve with the family as they add in pieces from travel, shopping and family heirlooms.”

Be Intentional

Designer Georgia Zikas explains, “my personal resolution is to truly stop buying anything that isn’t great quality, or that doesn’t really blow my hair back in style! We live in a small home, so space is super hard to come by, and it really forces us to evaluate what we bring in. Easy to say, hard to do with small kids, right? This year, I really want to be much more intentional about the things that make it in past our door. I encourage my clients to do this all the time, to edit and to be intentional — it’s my turn too.”
