How to Make a Vintage Sign Coffee Table

Materials Needed:
- 3/4-inch-thick plywood, same size as sign
- table saw (optional)
- white primer
- paint brush
- white melamine iron-on edging ($7, lowes.com)
- drill
- metal hairpin table legs
- screws
- clear construction adhesive
- spring clamps
Step 1
Cut a 3/4-inch-thick piece of plywood the same size as your sign, or have a home improvement store do it for you.
Step 2
Paint the entire piece of plywood with white primer. Let dry. Cover the plywood’s edges with white melamine iron-on edging.
Step 3
Drill pilot holes into the underside of the plywood for each table leg—we used metal hairpin legs—and screw them in.
Step 4
Apply clear construction adhesive such as Loctite to the plywood’s surface, then place the sign on top. Clamp the sign to the plywood with spring clamps and weigh down the center with something heavy, like a pile of books. Let dry for a few hours, then remove the clamps.
