For HGTV Urban Oasis 2024, the flex space is turned into the ultimate music haven, and we’re looking to these incredible room as inspiration.

Ukeleles, guitars and pianos, oh my. Off the main living room is a casual, eclectic space designed for picking out a favorite tune. Cushy sofas provide ample seating for playing or listening and are topped with fun pillows in a variety of colors and patterns.

Even the smallest space can be transferred in a harmonious spot. A petite keyboard, guitar and microphone turn this wall – covered in whimsical picture frame wallpaper – into a musical nook made just for kids.

Once a drab home office, this room is now ready for a melody. A glossy white piano takes centerstage amidst the elegant design elements of wainscoting, patterned curtains and classically tiled floors. Large windows pour natural light into the space.

Making the most out of our little awkward nooks requires some creativity, and they might as well be used for our creative passions. This narrow space is ideal for an antique piano, a music stand for practicing singing and a cozy chair for taking in the sweet tunes.

Located in Nashville, HGTV Urban Oasis 2022 honored the Music City by highlighting its country music history. In the burnt sienna den, a custom LED neon sign nods to music legends, such as Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson.

Unlike what you may have heard, dark walls don’t equal a visually smaller space. When done well, dark walls actually push the walls back, making a space feel larger rather than smaller. Deep green paint pairs with rustic, natural finishes for this comfy hangout space. With plenty of seating and a full bar area, its primed for a jam session.

A massive collection of vinyls deserves a designated space of their own. No digging through closets or bins to find the just-right song for the moment. Custom-designed open bookshelves hold at least 30 records per cubby, and, of course, the entire display is centered with a record player and favorite memorabilia from concerts.

Not every home has the extra room to devote only to music, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring the harmony into an already existing space. A trio of guitars hangs over the tufted aqua headboard for a spectacular display. Plus, the best part of displaying instruments is not having to find a place to stow them.

Pianos take up a ton of room so sometimes you have to think outside the box. We love how this floating staircase, which is a work of art unto itself, becomes the perfect spot to tuck a piano underneath. A gigantic window floods the space with natural light.
