The Matera Collection
Korean American designer Sean Yoo originally aspired to be a city planner, but after visiting the Noguchi Museum in New York, those plans changed. Inspired by the way renowned artist Isamu Noguchi gave meaning to ordinary objects, Yoo pivoted to furniture design. His Matera collection, aptly named after the Italian city where he was living at the time of its inception, reflects that ethos with clean lines and beveled edges. Featuring dressers, side tables, armoires, benches and mirrors, the collection is made in Malaysia and available in two wood finishes: oak and walnut. The Matera bed frame is offered in both a standard option and a storage option with six full-extension drawers — ideal for storing extra clothing or bedding.

The Nelson Thin Edge Collection
This collection carries the legacy of Herman Miller back to the 1950s. George Nelson, Herman Miller’s director of design, created the brand’s original Thin Edge Bed in 1954, and now Design Within Reach offers it with several modern updates. Before larger beds and memory foam mattresses became common, beds were smaller and used springs. Today, the Thin Edge Bed is available in larger sizes, features solid ash slats instead of springs, and replaces the original birch construction with white ash or solid walnut. The entire Thin Edge collection reflects Nelson’s signature minimalist design, updated with today’s materials and construction techniques in mind.

The Lull Bed
When you look at this bed frame, it’s clear it was designed for rest and relaxation. Created by Australian design practice Ellison Studios, founder Sarah Ellison drew inspiration from the 1970s and the era’s contemporary bedrooms. This is not your average bed frame — it features upholstered fabric options, including one made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. The design may appear simple, but it is seamlessly elegant, bringing a sense of warmth to any bedroom.
