10 Things You Might Not Know About Drew Scott
He loves to dance!
Drew Scott has become a staple on HGTV thanks to appearing on everything from Property Brothers to Buying and Selling and Brother vs. Brother. While we know a lot about his design style and have a firm grasp on his on-screen personality, a deep dive through his Instagram and past interviews revealed that there’s much more to Drew than what you see on his shows. Discover 10 fun facts about the 42-year-old host.
He has a podcast with his wife.
Drew is married to Linda Phan. The couple met at Toronto Fashion Week in 2010 before eventually getting married in 2018. At the end of 2019, the couple launched a podcast, At Home With Linda & Drew Scott. Since its launch, Drew and Linda have released 74 episodes, covering everything from health and wellness to environmentalism and balancing life.
He’s deeply invested in the environment and preserving Mother Nature.
Speaking of environmentalism, Drew is heavily intrigued by and dedicated to the Earth. He uses his podcast and Instagram as spaces to spread the word about sustainability and climate change, among other pressing environmental issues. At the beginning of April 2021, he announced that it’s his favorite month, not only because it’s his (and Linda’s) birth month but also because it’s Earth Month. To celebrate, he and Linda fundraised to plant 10,000 trees.
He loves supporting small businesses any way he can.
In addition to supporting environmental efforts, Drew also likes to spread the word about small businesses doing big things. In one episode of At Home, he and Linda interviewed a series of makers to learn how they turned their hobbies into their careers.
He plays the guitar.
The deeper you dive into Drew’s Instagram, the more photos you’ll find of him with a guitar in hand. The HGTV host doesn’t only strum, though: he sings, too!
He likes to cook.
In a 2017 interview with Us Weekly, Drew revealed that he cooks a pretty mean lasagna. And when you scroll through his Instagram, you’ll even find that he has a knack for making desserts. His love of cooking extends so far that most recently he did a segment with Home Chef in which he made cashew tofu.
He played basketball in college.
Another thing Drew revealed in his interview with Us Weekly? That he played basketball in college. Though, given his impressive height of 6 feet, 4 inches, we can’t say that we’re surprised.
He considers himself a health nut—despite his love of pizza and pudding.
The more you look through Drew’s Instagram, listen to his podcast, and read past interviews, the more you’ll realize he’s a certified health nut. So much so, that he has a pilates studio in his home, where both he and Linda work out regularly.
As much as he values his daily workouts and generally healthy lifestyle—he even studied kinesiology in college—he admitted to Us Weekly that he’s virtually powerless against pizza and pudding.
He was Tom Welling’s body double on Smallville.
Likely one of the most surprising discoveries about Drew is that he was actually Tom Welling’s body double on Smallville. In a 2020 interview with People, Drew revealed that all of the up-close butt and ab shots were actually his body—once again proving that his healthy lifestyle is alive and well, and most certainly paying off.
He goes all out for Halloween.
Like his brother Jonathan, Drew loves Halloween. Over the years, he and Linda have dressed up as Jessie and Woody, zombies and more.
He dances every single day.
Drew has appeared on shows beyond HGTV and Smallville. He was a contestant on Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars as well. Of course, this isn’t surprising considering he makes time to dance every day. In his Us Weekly interview, Drew revealed that he dances to at least one song a day with Linda. Talk about couple goals!
