Sitting Room With Soft Jewel Tones
Stepping inside this beautiful home reveals a sitting room with subtle jewel tones. Because the area is smaller in scale, the designer used mirrors on either side of the fireplace to expand the room and create a sense of openness.
Exposed Beams and Built-In Bookshelves
Down the hall, dark wooden beams extend across the living room, drawing the eye from the crystal chandelier to the built-in bookshelves. Custom millwork tucks the television from sight when guests arrive, thus creating a space that's both intentional and effortlessly elegant.
Living Room Includes Indoor-Outdoor Access
Further, neutral upholstered sofas invite guests to take a seat and relax, while large sliding glass doors open to let cool breezes flow through the house. Subtle patterns and muted colors draw visual interest without overwhelming the space.
Corner Features Blue Armchair, Abacus
Natural light illuminates the space, showcasing a blue armchair with a subtle white pattern. Here, the homeowners can sit back with a book or converse with friends. An oversized abacus hangs on the wall just behind as an ode to the owners' professions as accountants.
Three Plush, Patterned Pillows
Because her client was wary of too much color, designer Raegan Ford kept the furnishings neutral and added interest with patterned accents. Thus, three plush pillows in navy, gray and red draw the eye without distracting from the traditional design.
Transitional Kitchen Showcases Large Island
Across the way, a spacious transitional kitchen waits at the ready for meal prep and entertaining. A dark gray island and pale blue stools keep with the color scheme of the living room and make the two spaces feel united, while light fixtures in chrome add a luxe touch that the owner just loved.
Cozy Breakfast Nook With Circular Table
To the left, the owners and their family can enjoy breakfast together at the large round table. A circular pendant light hangs overhead to ensure that this cozy corner feels as bright and airy as possible.
Formal Dining Space
And when they need room to accomodate a crowd? The owners can move into the formal dining room, where eight armchairs provide plenty of seating options. A chandelier with mini lamp shades hangs above, while clean, white walls provide a sharp contrast to a pair black metal of display cabinets.
Symmetrical Black Metal Cabinets
Set against crisp white walls, these two black metal cabinets have a dramatic effect on the whole room. Inside, the owners' prized possessions are on display to draw visual interest and invite conversation.
Transitional Powder Room
Down the hall, guests can use the powder room to freshen up. Inside, a white vanity with a gray and white marble countertop boasts easy elegance, while a chrome mirror finishes the space off.
