Modern Lake House With Covered Patio
This lake house was designed by the architects at Montana Creative, built by Malmquist Construction and outfitted by Heidi Tate of Tate Interiors. Though clean lines and crisp white walls make the interior feel modern, stone accents and wood beams ensure that the home speaks to its surroundings. And when the owners really want to feel close to the water? They can step onto their covered patio.

Modern Home Situated on Lakeshore
Designed by Montana Creative in collaboration with Heidi Tate with Tate Interiors, this home was inspired by the waterfront. Expansive windows showcase the lake views, while accordion doors create a seamless indoor/outdoor living experience. Modern finishes create a sense of luxury in the wilderness.
Modern Entry With Stone Accent Wall
This entryway is masculine and modern, with a dark wood staircase and a stone accent wall offset by a stretch of white. A large piece of contemporary art brings some punchy color into the space as well.
Modern Master Suite With Lake Views
As far as master bedrooms go, this one is a serious stunner. Vaulted ceilings and sleek glass windows open the space up, while an upholstered platform bed becomes the perfect spot to relax. Notice, too, how the tree branch-inspired light fixture and reclaimed wood accent wall bring the outdoors inside.
Master Bathroom With Dark Wood Vanity
A wall-to-wall mirror reflects the natural light in this master bathroom, opening the space up and making it seem even larger! To contrast the crisp white walls, the designers brought in a dark, reclaimed wood vanity with his-and-her sinks and a caged chandelier in black. A round, metallic tub waits in the corner for when the owners need to relax before bed.
Master Bathroom Includes Metallic Tub
Because so much of this bathroom is defined by clean lines, the designers brought in a round tub for visual interest. The metallic finish of the feature complements the pulls on the vanity, and so it effectively ties the space together.
Powder Room Shines With Metallic Treatment
Have you ever seen a prettier powder room? Here, the designers used wallpaper with a metallic finish, a textured mirror, teardrop-like pendants and a basin sink to create a small space that's full of interest.
Kitchen With Accordion Window to Patio
This kitchen is bold yet sophisticated thanks to dark wood cabinets, a granite-topped island and brown leather barstools. An accordion window fills the space with fresh air and natural light, as well as allows the owners to hand drinks and snacks out to guests on the patio.
Great Room With Floor-to-Ceiling Windows
With floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides, this great room takes full advantage of its lakefront setting. Reclaimed wood beams pull some of that natural texture in, while a large gray sofa and four armchairs create a comfortable sitting area within sight of the water.
Dining Space With Blue-Cushioned Chairs
Tucked behind the living room sofa, a long wood table and eight chairs create a formal dining space for the owners. Notice how the designers took cues from the lake outside and finished the chairs off with cushions in a beautiful green-blue color.
Living Room Features Sleek Fireplace
This sleek black fireplace was designed as a statement piece for the living room. It was made with a material called archistone that looks like a concrete product but can be manipulated and colored any way the client wants it. The hearth was made from a huge boulder that was craned into place. The result is a gorgeous space that feels modern yet true to its rustic setting.
Covered Patio Complete With Sectionals
No lake house would be complete without a patio that overlooks the water. A large outdoor rug anchors the main sitting area, which boasts two comfortable sectionals and two square coffee tables, while four lounge chairs offer a space for some reading or reclining.
