State Cake
A state-shaped cake is a great way to honor the groom’s roots, celebrate where you met or where you’ll start your happily ever after. If you’re a DIY bride, use a large parchment paper template in the shape of your chosen state to create this cake. Lay the paper on top of a large store-bought or homemade sheet cake and cut around it using a serrated knife.
Golf Cake
This cake is guaranteed to be a hole-in-one for any golf-loving groom. It consists of two, square chocolate-frosted tiers decorated with a buttercream "putting green." A white fondant golf ball looks convincing surrounded by real wooden tees (be sure to use new, unused tees). Ask your baker to use a grass decorator tip to achieve the grassy frosting texture.
Maple-Candied Bacon Cake
The flavors of maple and bacon are a match made in heaven. This two-tier confection is covered in buttery maple icing and garnished with strips of candied bacon — the perfect offering if your man of the hour is a pancakes-and-bacon enthusiast.
Chocolate Crispy Rice Treat Cake
Surprise your spouse (and guests) with a delightfully unconventional cereal treat cake. For a fresh bite, decorate chocolate-dipped strawberries like footballs as a tribute to his favorite sport.
Belgian Waffle Cake
An extra-tall stack of Belgian waffles will fulfill the dreams of any breakfast fanatic, and it’s easy enough for your caterer (or a trusted bridesmaid) to DIY. Serve with creamy, European-style butter and a drizzle of real maple syrup.
Peanut Butter Cup Cake
Inspired by the classic candy, this cake is both decadent and nostalgic. Chocolate cakes are spread with irresistibly thick layers of peanut butter frosting, then covered with chocolate and vanilla buttercream. Rows of peanut butter cups are added as a sweet, decorative flourish.
Tipsy Topper
Now this is a cake topper we can get behind. Start by cutting the base of mini red party cups (we found ours at the dollar store) at various angles and sticking them down into the cake. Add a tiny bottle of your favorite booze and finish it off with a drizzle of honey to give it the look of an extra good time.

Triple Bundt Stout Cake
What’s better than one bundt cake? Three! This triple-decker chocolate stout cake is infused with rich dark beer and served with an array of pretzels and nuts on the side. Simply bake your favorite chocolate stout bundt cake three times and stack them high. Use a standard fluted bundt pan for the bottom two layers, and use a fancy decorative pan for the top layer to add interest and height.

Banana Pudding Cake
Who doesn’t love a good dessert mashup? This cake consists of yellow sponge layers stacked with vanilla pudding and bananas. A fluffy covering of yellow buttercream and a row of vanilla wafers on top makes the inspiration unmistakable. Not a fan of banana pudding? Try a tiramisu cake, key lime pie cake or any other delectable dessert/cake combo.
Woodland Naked Cake
Deer cake toppers, candy mushrooms and mossy-hued cookie crumbs will make this tall un-frosted cake a sight for your outdoorsman to behold. By leaving the cake’s edges bare, you can best appreciate the uniform cake layers and peek-a-boo frosting in between.
Glazed Bourbon Cake
Give your groom a spirited cake! Most any cake flavor can be transformed when soaked with bourbon simple syrup, which has hints of oak and caramel. White chocolate glaze also benefits from a shot of the liqueur in the mix just before it’s poured over the cake tiers, creating a pretty, marbled effect. Serve this cake with the groom’s favorite reserve.
Chocolate + Coffee Cake
For the coffee fanatic, this decadent cake is a triple-chocolate, coffee-infused confection topped with, you guessed it, chocolate-covered coffee beans. Style with a vintage can of the groom's favorite brew for a picture-worthy spread.
Sweet + Salty Cake
Salty with sweet is the ultimate power couple when it comes to desserts. Ordinary chocolate cake can be made extraordinary with rows of salty pretzel sticks and twists that double as decor.
Wood Slice Cake
A beautiful stacked-wood stump cake with carved initials will evoke feelings of young love and bring rustic appeal to your table. Style with fresh greenery stems for an "out of the woods" look.
Coconut Cake
A smart stack of coconut cake tiers is a veritable blank canvas for your choice of decor. Dress it up with the groom’s favorite seasonal fruit, or make it exotic with eye-popping tropical fruits.
