Let There Be Light
The stunning sunsets that envelop the HGTV Urban Oasis 2020 in Portland, Maine, guided designer Brian Patrick Flynn’s hand in choosing this graphic grasscloth wallpaper for the laundry room and adjoining mudroom. This large space feels even bigger thanks to the strong horizontal lines seen in the wallpaper combined with the long, low bench and a side-by-side washer and dryer. Above, solar powered skylights open to let in the Atlantic air.

Study in Contrasts
Crisp, white trim frames the entryway to a powder room with a nautical blueprint wallpaper and wide, leggy sink. Since the laundry area and powder bath adjoin, this provides an excellent opportunity to juxtapose contrasting hues and wall treatments. Here, the laundry room’s pale pink and abstract tones give way to crisp, defined shapes on the wallpaper in the powder room.
Stylish Shelves
A pair of cupboard doors might have concealed this storage space and its contents from view, so instead of hiding that beautiful wallpaper, designer Brian Patrick Flynn installed floating shelves. Not only do these shelves allow the gorgeous colors of the wallcovering to be seen, they also make all the laundry supplies easier to access. Wicker and woven vessels, like these, are an excellent way to organize all your laundry necessities.
Montana Blues
The teal paint on the walls of the HGTV Dream Home 2019's laundry room both reflects its mountaintop perch in ‘big sky country’ — that is, Whitefish, Montana — and counterbalances the rustic notes of a cowhide covered bench and southwestern-style wall art. Sturdy, handsome cork flooring carries from the appliance area to an adjoining mudroom.

Glossy Grays
Mismatched countertops and laundry appliances aren’t the end of the world, in fact, most of us don’t give them a second thought. Consider, however, just how luxe a work space would feel when you take the time to coordinate cabinetry and equipment as Brian Patrick Flynn did here. The glossy, slate colored cabinets and black quartz countertops are paired perfectly with this washer and dryer, giving the room a streamlined sense of grandeur.
Making a Splash
One could argue that every laundry room needs an undermounted utility sink and a touch activated faucet. What Dream Home would be complete without an unexpected and utterly delightful statement accessory like this one?
Pattern Play
A sleek, charcoal ceiling and floral Roman shade complement showstopping plaid floor tiles in the HGTV Smart Home 2018 laundry room. White lower cabinets with minimal hardware and ample open shelving throw a spotlight on those designer details.

Chores Can Be Fun
We can all admit that doing the laundry is not the most appealing household chore, but it could be made a little more enticing with a well-designed space. The floor tiles in this laundry room prove that chores really can be fun.
Stylish Shades
These dark, floral Roman shades on the laundry room window add color and pattern to the space, showing that even your laundry room deserves a beautiful window treatment.
Chutes and Linens
Why lug a cumbersome bin of dirty clothes between your bedroom and laundry area when you can reach into the back of your closet, give a hidden laundry basket on rails a gentle shove, and send it rolling directly into the cabinet beside your washer and dryer?
Pet Spa

Bespoke Backsplash
Ultra-functional spaces with comparatively small footprints leave little room for embellishment, which is why the blue and white marble and glass tile backsplash here is such a clever choice. The variations in pattern introduce an element of whimsy to the space and echo the minimalistic hardware installed on the cabinetry.
Southern Suite
Designer Brian Patrick Flynn celebrated the massive combined laundry area and mudroom in the HGTV Dream Home 2020 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, by outfitting it with design-savvy choices from floor to ceiling. The pair of paintings on the tiled feature wall complement the Roman shades and the interior paint. The ample sitting area at the center of the room tilts the space away from pure functionality and invites guests just in from the beach to sit for a spell before heading into the rest of the house.

Strategic Selection
The porcelain tile chosen for this room is ideal for the indoor-outdoor lifestyle it’s designed to support. The look is every bit as appealing as marble, but the durability it promises far outpaces more delicate stone or hardwood.
Canine Clubhouse
In an expansive multipurpose space like this one, there’s plenty of room to create a personalized retreat for the family pet. Double the size of most dog crates and outfitted with a plush bed, this toy-filled nook could be the best seat in the house.
Modern Art
The six sculptures above the pet washing station are a beautiful addition to the HGTV Smart Home 2020’s thoughtful laundry room. The appliances, cabinetry, fixtures and supplies fit together harmoniously, making this a soothing retreat.

Dinner by Design
Tiffany Brooks made this space even smarter by balancing the bathing area on the opposite side of the laundry room with a next generation pet feeder that assists homeowners in scheduling and personalizing mealtime. It’s so smart that it’ll call pets’ bluffs by sending text alerts when they’ve been fed (sorry, pal, there’s proof you already ate).
Something Old, Something New
The Shaker-style white maple cabinets seen in the HGTV Smart Home 2017's laundry room lend the space a classic style. The slim closet unit to the right of the utility sink equips the space with the latest technology. It’s a steam system that smooths, deodorizes and sanitizes clothes, making laundry day a breeze.

Saluting Scottsdale
The graphic tile that carries out from the laundry room and into the kitchen creates a diagonal, southwestern-style pattern that pays tribute to its Arizona setting. The black and white flooring echoes the crisp, monochromatic cabinetry and pops against the green hue designer Tiffany Brooks chose for the walls.
Great Location
The HGTV Smart Home 2016's laundry room is located upstairs, making doing laundry easier than ever. No more lugging heavy bins up and down the stairs – this space makes doing laundry a breeze.

Artful Organization
These stylish supply bins are almost too pretty to shut behind cabinet doors. Classic amber apothecary bottles and striped towel bins elevate these laundry room staples.
Playful and Practical
Designer Tiffany Brooks accented the laundry room’s work areas with accessories that echo southern style throughout this North Carolina home. Even the utility sink is embellished with a sweet arrangement of Gerbera daisies in a mercury glass vase, complemented by an abstract painting.
Craftsman Charm
Designer Brian Patrick Flynn chose an ethereal blue-gray paint for the laundry room of the HGTV Urban Oasis 2017, providing a beautiful background to classic details like the transom window above the exterior door. A pair of long antique benches create a sitting area below hooks for coats and accessories.

Island Inspiration
Breezy beauty infuses the HGTV Dream Home 2017's laundry area on Georgia’s idyllic St. Simons Island. A playful, graphic wallpaper pays tribute to the avian life that flits through the marshland beyond the back door.

Coastal Chic
Pale flooring provides a nice contrast to the graphic wallpaper without overwhelming the space with color. The addition of crisp, white interior doors, that echo the room’s Shaker-style cabinetry, help make this space both casual and preppy.
Art Everywhere
Since the HGTV Dream Home 2016 laundry room doesn’t boast a window with a view of Florida’s Merritt Island, designer Brian Patrick Flynn infused the space with beachy charm to remind you of its coastal location. Caribbean blue enfolds abstract artwork, coastal accessories and a pair of ombré storage baskets.

Jewel Box
Small laundry rooms, like the one in the HGTV Urban Oasis 2016, provide fantastic opportunities to experiment with bold design choices. Here, the serene green hallway gives way to a riot of pattern in the space it frames. Bonus: Those intricate tiles are washable.

Northern Air
Designer Brian Patrick Flynn enveloped the laundry room in graphic patterned tile, then accented a floating shelf above the washer and dryer with a dramatic Arctic landscape photo. Surrounded by an array of succulents, the artwork feels a bit like a window into another world.
Performance and Polish
The HGTV Dream Home 2014 features a handsome granite slab that tops sleek Shaker-style cabinets. Decanted in decorative glass bottles, liquid laundry soaps double as accessories.

Perks for Pups
The HGTV Smart Home 2014’s laundry room doubles as a chic canine retreat with clever cabinetry that functions as a feeding station and a sleeping nook. The pattern on the bed in that nook? Houndstooth, of course.
