Sophisticated gray cabinetry and clever nooks offer ample space for cleaning supplies and pet-friendly amenities. Typically a room with many roles would be cluttered and chaotic, but this drop zone off the garage provides plenty of storage.

The front-loading washer and dryer are designed to take on large laundry loads with enough work surface to fold and sort. Four upper cabinets offer space to store detergent and linens.

A wire basket doubles as a convenient tote for clean laundry or will keep towels close at hand.

An undermount sink and white countertops are stylish and hard-working, making any household chores a breeze.

The laundry room offers pet-friendly amenities, with a stylish tin for dog food storage.

Stainless steel food bowls are tucked away under the sink and slide out for mealtimes. A dog bed, outfitted in blue and white houndstooth, provides a cozy nook for furry family members to relax and take a nap.

Security features include an alarm system, which connects to a home-monitoring network, so homeowners feel safe at all times.

"The two tall cabinets can hold a lot of dry goods, like flours, sugars and things you don't use all of the time," explains interior designer Linda Woodrum.

Adjacent to the laundry room is a spacious reach-in closet, in which homeowners can store seasonal items, coats and gear.

"Between the butler's pantry and mudroom, there is tons of storage and it's so accessible," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. Custom shelving and hanging storage accommodate the needs of any homeowner.

The pantry and laundry room sits conveniently off the main living areas, making it a convenient drop zone before entering the house.
