Materials

Start by cutting two equal pieces of sports-patterned fabric and iron-on webbing. Fuse the materials together with an iron.

Next, cut a hole in the fabric for the handle to go through.

Use fabric glue and line the edges of the sports-patterned fabric and the opening for the handle. Then, apply bias tape. Flip the fabric over and apply more fabric glue to the edges. Fold over the bias tape to secure the edges together.

Cut out a rectangle using the sports-patterned fabric and make sure it fits on the material you just fused together. Fold up the bottom edge and apply fabric glue and press down for a few seconds to attach it to the pocket. Add another thin rectangle to the top of the pocket to form the flap and glue the top edge to the original material. This will help secure items inside the pocket so they don’t fall out.

Now it’s time for the cushion. Apply a generous amount of fabric glue to one side of the cushion and place it on the fabric. Make sure the handle on the cushion is lined up so that it will poke through the hole you created earlier when folded.

Complete the project by applying hook and loop tape to the inside of the pocket flap as well as to the top and bottom of the stadium seat. Flip the entire thing over and add two more hook and loop strips near the center of the stadium seat. This will allow you to fold the entire thing in half and make it easy to carry from game to game.

Pack your sunglasses, sunscreen and a snack inside the pocket and you’re ready for a day at the ballpark.
