Mop Pad: Materials and Tools

  • microfiber cloth
  • snap tool
  • small, metal snaps
  • scissors
  • mop with flat base

Floor Cleaner: Materials and Tools

  • clean spray bottle
  • distilled water
  • rubbing alcohol
  • dish soap

Instructions

1: Lay your microfiber cloth face down, and put the flat-base mop head in the center. Cut off excess cloth with scissors. Note: You'll want the cloth to fold over the top of the mop head a few inches on both sides.

2: Using your snap tool, add plastic snaps to one side of the microfiber cloth. Note: We added six snaps on each side, approximately 1/2" from the edge and 1" apart.

3: Add accompanying snaps to the other side with the same placement as the others.

5: To create a safe, eco-friendly floor cleaner, fill a spray bottle halfway with distilled water and top off with rubbing alcohol. Add about 1 tablespoon of dish soap. Give the bottle a good shake to blend the ingredients.

6: Need to clean up a spill? Simply spray your homemade cleaner directly on the surface, then mop up with your reusable pad. When you're done, toss the microfiber cloth in the washer. Note: Clean your cloth in the washer using warm water and a gentle liquid detergent. Let your cloth air-dry, or place in the dryer on low heat with no dryer sheet.
