For the pumpkin:
hot glue gun
3 circles of cardboard
2 pieces of quilt batting
1 circle of orange felt (big enough to wrap around cardboard and batting)
1 smaller circle of orange felt
1 1/2 yards brown ribbon
1 1/2 yards orange yarn
felt green leaf and brown stem OR faux leaf and stem
For the witch:
1 circle of cardboard
1 circle of black felt
1 sheet of stiff black felt
strip of black lace
Use a bowl as a stencil and cut circles out of a strong corrugated cardboard.
To create the pumpkin shape, stack a circle of felt plus two layers of quilt batting and the cardboard circle together. Glue in place.
Sew on Seams
Poke a hole in the center of the cardboard, then thread a needle with orange yard to create seams on your pumpkin.
Cut about 1 1/2 yards of ribbon and lay it across the middle. Then seal fabric in place by gluing the smaller felt circle on top.
A green felt leaf and rolled up twig complete the look. Now the only thing left to do is try it on!
Witch Hat Variation
Wrap circle of black felt around cardboard and glue in place. Roll stiff felt into a cone shape. Cut off excess and glue on top of circle.
Add black feathers and spider, gluing in place. Attach strip of lace along the underside of the circle, which looks like a veil. Finally, attach a 1 1/2' ribbon to the bottom of your circle and glue the second piece of black felt on top.
