The garage in HGTV Smart Home 2020 is not just a place to park cars — it’s part of the home’s living space. In an alcove off the main parking area, there is a home gym. Even though the workout equipment takes up the entire alcove, there is still plenty of storage in the rest of the garage.

A large black-and-white-striped indoor/outdoor rug adds bold pattern and helps define the gym area, plus it adds a little cushion underfoot when doing those jumping jacks.

To add a little workout inspiration, designer Tiffany Brooks included an oversized vintage photograph of a skier. In front of the artwork, teal-colored ottomans offer a spot to catch your breath and provide an interesting contrast to the purple-gray walls.
