Black-and-white photographs of house planner Jack Thomasson's relatives lend a personal touch to the space. "It's a way to keep yourself in touch with your family," says Linda. "It doesn't have to be great photography, it just has to be things that are important to you."

Stored in the closet and close at hand, allergen- and dust mite-resistant pillows — filled with micro-cushions — feel similar to down-filled pillows and provide optimum support for the head, neck and shoulders.
