Organized and Stylish
Sleek glass and metal double doors open up to the entry of this modern-meets-classic luxury cabin, an organized and stylish space with airy white walls, built-in mossy green mudroom, and A-frame ceiling.
Local Flavor
A salvaged “Customer Parking Only” sign from a local Vermont small business above the double doors adds local flavor and fun touch to this super functional space.
Beautiful Natural Light
The entry’s four no leak solar powered fresh air skylights bring both natural light and refreshing breezes inside the home, with a handy rain sensor that automatically closes the skylights at the first sign of inclement weather.
Architectural Treatment for Entry
With strong architectural features and views of the natural beauty outside, the home's entry sets the scene for the rest of this luxurious modern cabin. Sleek glass-and-metal double doors open to an organized and stylish space with airy white walls, a cathedral ceiling with skylights and a built-in, mossy-green mudroom.
Cheery Green Mudroom
A custom built-in mudroom with ski lockers and bench was painted a muted mossy green, providing an attractive storage solution for all your outdoor gear. Handy cubbies below the bench provide easy access to shoes and boots, keeping the main living areas of the home clean and uncluttered.
Whole Home Protection
A base station that acts as the brain of the home’s advanced wireless security system sits in the front entry. If it gets unplugged or the power goes out, a 24-hour backup battery keeps you covered. A circular wooden frame accent mirror above the base station allows you to check hair or makeup before leaving home.
Clean and Uncluttered
Handy cubbies below the mudroom bench provide easy-access storage for shows and boots, to keep the main living areas of the home clean and uncluttered.
Touch of Pattern
The entry’s fashionable tufted wool and viscose area rug with a diamond pattern has a medium pile height that allows for even wear.
Grab-and-Go Storage
Hooks in the built-in mudroom storage unit provide grab-and-go storage for sweaters, jackets, and coats. The storage cabinets above are ventilated, for off-season storage of skis.
Easy-Care Plant for Entry
An easy-care snake plant on a square white pedestal next to the custom green mudroom brings a touch of nature to the interior of this luxury modern cabin. The snake plant also naturally helps clean the air inside the home.
No Bad Views
The glass and metal double doors offer a beautiful look at the fall foliage just outside, in this spectacular Warren, Vermont location. “There’s no bad view anywhere in the house,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
Local Flavor
Across from the mudroom, designer Brian Patrick Flynn and his team went to local flea markets and antique stores to find decorative items that reflect the active Vermont lifestyle.
Have a Look
These two windows in the entry look out to the home’s two-car garage and a firepit patio. This majestic property was designed with outdoor living spaces that celebrate the natural beauty of the region.
Clever Storage
Stylish storage on this side of the entry was created with two 3-drawer dressers that combine woven rattan, acacia wood, and powder-coated steel. “We did two of them side-by-side, and it gives you a bunch of storage for all the stuff you don’t want to see,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
Versatile Lamps
A pair of 29-inch-high table lamps on top of the dressers provide illumination and have a versatile modern silhouette, with linen shades and a concrete base.
Personality and Texture
A rectangular historical black and gray print of Vermont, curated books, and a touch of nature add personality and texture on top of the dressers.
Stylish Storage
The top of one of the dressers also includes an oval rustic decorative wood bowl that offers catch-all storage for keys, sunglasses, mail and more.
Four Season Fun
Vintage water skis from the 1960s create funky wall art that celebrates the appealing Vermont lifestyle, with different activities for all four seasons.
Stay Secure
The entry includes a touch-to-wake wireless keypad that allows you to arm and disarm the home’s wireless security system. The advanced keypad works with the base station, security camera on one of the dressers, and well-placed sensors to provide whole home protection for peace of mind.
Bold and Beautiful
The entry’s bold and beautiful engineered White Oak Hardwood floor with wide planks features a light wire-brushed texture for timeless character, and a refined sense of style.
Sets the Scene
This airy entry with strong architectural features and views of the natural beauty outside sets the scene for the rest of this modern cabin, that offers something for everyone.
