An aged mirror, flanked by two antique nickel sconces, carves out the room's focal point and creates the illusion of space in the home's first-floor bathroom.

A natural quartz countertop provides a blank canvas against which accessories, including luxury soaps and scented candles, pop.

Playing on the room's fun and lively color palette, a chartreuse-hued phalaenopsis orchid nestles in a moss- and rock-filled glass vase.

Inspired by seashell shapes, the lavatory faucet will activate with a simple touch of the spout or handle.

The grass green hue of cabinetry echoes the lush landscape and marshland visible from powder room windows.

"The wall colors came from the marsh," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "What locals call 'pluff mud' is the brown, and the wonderful green of the marsh grass is used for the stripes and shows up in the vanity. Since the horizontal green stripe is narrow, the intensity of its color is amplified and energized against the matte brown walls, the same feeling one gets as the marsh grass moves in the breeze."

Bamboo flooring leads from the powder room to the entry hall and the home's staircase, which switchbacks to second-floor guest bedrooms and loft space.
