Designed as a "secret getaway" for children, the 10 by 9-foot room boasts a flat-screen TV, plus sleeping bags for four. A running stripe visually expands the spaces. "It's not an adult room — it should be fun, frivolous and lighthearted," says Linda.
A pint-sized entrance leads the way from the children's cove to the family room.
An archival pigment print by artist Milano Liberi connects the space to mountain landscapes and serves as the room's focal point. "With so much saturated color, I knew we needed black and white there to clean and crisp up the room."
Traditional wing chairs make a fashion-forward statement when covered in a creamy shade of leather and studded with nail-head trim. Lamb's wool throws and punchy circle pillows soften the masculine undertone.
Bold paisley-print chenille pillows form the foundation for Linda's Old West-meets-modern-Utah design. "We were in New York City, and those fabrics were in the window [of the Ethan Allen showroom] and I thought, 'That is so perfect for our family room.'"

An outdoor rug anchors the cozy seating area, where two motion chairs, topped with lamb's wool throws, provide a front-row seat to the changing seasons.
Exterior cladding differentiates wings of the home. Corncrib framing on the east wing, which houses the family room and the second-floor guest suite, lends rustic charm.
A hatch opens to reveal under-deck storage for cushions and outdoor accessories.
Karl Foerster grasses create a natural barrier of privacy and, when viewed from interior spaces, bleed into natural meadow grasses beyond the property line.
