Eclectic Living Area Showcases Vibrant Primary Colors
The goal for this long, rectangular space was to create multiple seating areas for various uses: an open entry area, a central formal seating area for entertaining and a more casual TV-watching area for the family near the rear. Bold artwork and furniture upholstered in vibrant primary colors invigorate the neutral space.

Bold Primary Colors Bring Vigor to Living Area
A major challenge for this design project was the couple's distinct design sensibilities — the husband is a fan of midcentury modern design, while the wife longed to add traditional touches of warmth and character to the space. Here, a vintage, midcentury Vistosi ceiling fixture and framed advertising poster speak to the husband's design style, while the blue velvet settee and roll-arm chaise add a traditional touch. Bold, bright fabrics on the upholstered pieces bring vigor to the neutral backdrop of the walls and rug.

Classic Meets Modern in Dynamic Seating Area
To blend modern and traditional elements in this seating area, Right Meets Left Design used a William Morris print from the 1800s on the accent pillow, which incorporates the same color palette as the modern abstract painting. The transitional style of the chair and floor lamp helps to bridge the gap.
