A Luxurious Living Room With a Velvet Couch and Chairs Blends Old World and New

Designer Michelle Gage gutted this home, so she could start with a clean palette, and incorporated the homeowner's own furnishings with more contemporary touches. Rich velvets create a sense of luxurious comfort. The designer incorporated the owner's table and chairs seen in the distance but wallpapered the ceiling and used a modern chandelier to update the space.
