Prep + Clean
To make sure your garage door is ready for paint, it first needs a good cleaning. Start by removing any dirt or debris, then scraping off or sanding any loose paint. Spray down the entire door with a powerful degreaser and scrub away grime with a tough scrub brush. If the surface of the door is cracked, damaged or dented, you may need to call a professional before you begin.

Rinse Clean
Once the degreaser has worked its magic, rinse the door clean with water and allow to dry. Repeat the cleaning process on the trim around the door if you're planning to paint it as well.
