Pantry
It’s a great place to display vintage dishes, glassware or, in the case of blogger Amy Mings of Maison de Mings, copper pieces. (Her collection started with the set of pots she got on a trip to France.) White dishware and glass jars complete the chic neutral palette. Bonus: “Taking sugar and flour out of bags helps us not overbuy,” she says.
Produce Stash
Veggies in wire magazine files? Why not! Brandie Larsen of Home Sort relocated her spuds and some produce (the onions were stinking up her fridge) to file holders from Target on her counter. “I could have used a bowl, but this is way more fun and fresh,” she says.
Broom “Closet”
Blogger Jessica D’Itri Marés and her husband, Tyler, of Renovate 108, installed the pullout cabinet themselves and painted it Narragansett Green by Benjamin Moore. “Now I can see all my cleaning products at a glance instead of digging through rows of bottles in a cabinet,” says Jessica. They prefer to get large refill jugs of cleaners and pour them into amber glass bottles from Amazon that they label for — what else? — a clean look.
Dish Towel Depot
Calling all Marie Kondo fans. Blogger Ashley McCarthy of Style + Dwell swears by the organizing guru’s fold-and-file method. “Keeping towels lined up in a drawer instead of stacked in a basket means I can easily grab one,” she says. “And I can quickly tell when it’s time to do laundry.”
Kitchen Tools Drawer
No fancy customization here — just seven bamboo drawer organizers from The Container Store that let food blogger Jeanine Donofrio of Love and Lemons find anything in a nanosecond. “Grouping the tools on a table first helped me figure out which sizes of organizers to buy,” she says. The yellow is always a treat to come upon: “I love a visual pop as much as I love a squeeze of lemon in my cooking.”
