Lanterns Illuminate Paved Walkway

To ensure the homeowners can navigate this space at night, little black lanterns light the path along the walkway. Rustic European cobble stepping stones provide interesting paths to watch the sunset over the hills.

Patio Overlooks California Hillside

Around the back of the house, a small patio overlooks the rolling California hillside. With another fountain and flowers all around, this quiet space is perfect for reading or simply enjoying the sunshine.

Infinity-Edge Pool Tucked Into Hillside

Torrey Pines Landscape Company worked with the existing upper patio consisting of gorgeous cobblestone to further the home’s historic European aesthetic. Meanwhile, a large existing infinity-edge pool allows the owners to swim against the hillside.

Pool Area With Smooth Travertine Patio

By removing the uneven lawn that once wrapped around the side of the pool, Torrey Pines Landscape’s architects were able to outfit and upgrade this outdoor space with a travertine patio and Cameron flagstone. Now the transition from the home to the pool is smooth and rich with Tuscan style.

Orange Chaises Make Comfortable Seating

Four orange chaises anchor the far corner of the patio, ensuring that the owners and their guests can comfortably rest after a swim. Thanks to their warm hues, the pieces work perfectly with the Mediterranean-tiled roof.

Formal Garden Includes Idyllic Fountain

As they wander along the garden path, guests will eventually arrive at a stone patio centered by a fountain. Thanks to its warm, two-tiered design, the piece perfectly complements the home's Mediterranean architecture.

Romantic View of Sprawling Estate

With a view like this, the homeowners might just think they went to bed in San Diego and woke up in Tuscany. Trimmed hedges and flowers surround the stone patio and add a romantic touch to the setting.

Charming Mediterranean-Style Courtyard

To preserve a native oak tree, the Torrey Pines Landscape Company renovated the central courtyard to lessen water usage and create a background tapestry of plants appropriate to its microclimate. A Cameron flagstone patio seating area was carved out to connect to the original stone fireplace anchored to the home elevating the warmth of this outdoor living room.

Bench Surrounded By Flowering Plants

A wood bench tucks neatly against the side of the path, giving the owners room to sit and take in their surroundings. Meanwhile, rows of flowering plants enhance the garden's natural beauty.

Stone Path Encourages Strolls Through Garden

Once an unassuming lawn, the front of this Mediterranean-inspired home has since been transformed into an idyllic garden. By repurposing stepping stones from the back patio, the Torrey Pines Landscape Company created a linear path with spots along the way for reflection.
