Tour an HGTV Stylist's Renovated, 1910 East Tennessee Bungalow

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes ... an immediate home reno? HGTV stylist Danielle Boaz and her husband Caleb started their marriage unlike most: in the throes of an extensive old home restoration.

"[We] were about a month off from being married when we bought this house," Danielle says of their 1910, 900-square-foot Knoxville, Tennessee, home. "Then a couple of weeks after we got back from our honeymoon, we were demoing."

"Truth be told, this house is everything that we weren't looking for; it was very unexpected," Danielle explains. "But the opportunity to buy this house just fell into our laps, and because we really love the neighborhood — it's only a couple of minutes from downtown — we just decided to jump on it."

"I remember our first day of demo," Danielle recalls. "My husband was pulling the vinyl siding off the house. I was picking up trash and digging out a million bricks from the backyard. I had the thought: 'Why are we doing this?' 'Can we get out of this?' 'We don't have to do this.' Long story short: My husband is the ultimate optimist and risk-taker out of the two of us and he convinced me that we should [renovate the house]. Now looking back on it, I think this will be one of the best things we ever did together."
