Adding Vintage Americana Style to a Guest Bedroom

By layering light and dark blues, a unique mix of patterns and classic American style, this guest bedroom puts a cool, casual spin on Americana.

To ground the sleeping area, the wall above the bed is covered in a vintage canvas American flag. To keep the American palette consistent, the room is accented with pillows and accessories in different shades of red, white and blue.

For an unexpected touch, the seating area was designed with a hand-painted wooden table found in Morocco. To put a fresh spin on classic American style, try throwing something into the mix that adds an element of surprise and makes it unique.

An old midcentury-modern dresser was transformed to fit the space by painting its drawer fronts in different shades of blue, creating an ombre effect. To save on budget and keep some of the dresser’s original charm, its existing brass drawer pulls were removed, polished and then put back on.
