The 12' x 13' space is divided into three zones: a reading lounge, workstation and water closet. To unite the water closet with the two zones in the adjacent room, its walls are painted the same shade of mint green.

Although the den is average in size, its windows were dressed with drapery panels slightly shorter than the ceiling to accentuate the ample height of the room, making it feel taller.

For a bohemian touch in the lounge area, a coffee table made from an antique bellow serves double duty as a conversation-starter. Underfoot Details

Bohemian style is carefree, unstructured, colorful, relaxed and packed with organic texture. To differentiate the lounge area from the rest of the room, a super-textured jute rug was added to the hardwood floor. Jute is an excellent fit for interiors with relaxed styles, plus it’s a great choice for kid- and pet-friendly homes since the jute helps hide flaws and pet hair.

Floor to Ceiling

The drapery fabric was used to tie together the wall color and the red sofa upholstery. Anytime drapery is made for a small to medium sized room, it’s important to keep the scale of prints and patterns in mind. Small patterns can become busy; overscale patterns can overwhelm a space; but medium-scale prints are a safe bet that works in almost all settings.
