Materials Needed:

  • lamp base
  • roll of jute twine
  • lampshade
  • hot glue

Step 1

With a dab of hot glue, adhere the beginning of a roll of jute twine — available at hardware stores — to the top of the lamp base.

Step 2

Wrap the twine around the base, hot-gluing every few rotations so that it doesn’t droop. For a textured look, occasionally overlap the twine.

Step 3

When you reach the base’s bottom, cut the twine and secure it with a final dab of hot glue at the back.
