Homemade S'mores Kit

Materials Needed:

homemade marshmallows
icebox cookies
chocolate chips (semi-sweet, dark or milk chocolate)
wax paper
rubber gloves
baking sheet
double boiler
(4) 4' long thin branches (willow works great)
food-grade wax or oil
old tin

chalkboard paint
chalk markers
bandana
leather cording or string
drill
clear food storage bags
rubber gloves
sandpaper
permanent marker or wood-burnishing tool

Make Cookies, Chocolate Squares and Marshmallows

To make chocolate squares, melt chocolate chips in a double boiler, stirring constantly until chocolate is thoroughly melted. Pour melted chocolate onto a wax-paper-lined pan, spread until chocolate is approximately 1/16-inch thick. Allow to cool, then break apart into rough squares. Tip: Wear rubber gloves to eliminate fingerprints.

Create Toasting Sticks

Whittle branches to remove bark and create a point at one end. Coat sticks with a food-grade oil or wax to make removing hot s'mores easier.

Add Leather Cording

Drill hole through end of stick and run string or leather cording through to create hanger. Using a permanent marker or wood-burnishing tool, add recipient's initials or a phrase.
