How to Make a Bewitching Halloween Pumpkin

Looking for a pumpkin project that doesn't involve carving? Create this witch pumpkin from start to finish with items from the craft store.

Materials Needed:

  • faux pumpkin
  • black permanent marker
  • eyeglasses stickers
  • sheet black felt
  • 6" foam cone
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • sheet gold glitter paper
  • picture frame sticker
  • light green spray paint
  • 1 faux fall leaf garland
  • sheet of black craft foam
  • small bowl
  • aluminum foil
  • salad plate
  • pencil
  • scissors

Create Witch's Nose

Place pumpkin on top of a small bowl so the stem is facing to the side (Image 1). Twist a piece of aluminum foil into a cone shape then attach it to the pumpkin's stem with hot glue (Image 2).

Paint Pumpkin

Move outdoors or to a well-ventilated area. Cover the small bowl with a plastic bag and coat the entire pumpkin with light green spray paint.

Add Facial Features

Attach eyeglasses sticker above the tin foil nose (Image 1). Using a black permanent marker, draw on a mouth and pupils inside the glasses (Image 2).

Craft Witch's Hat

Place a salad plate on top of a sheet of black craft foam, trace around it with a pencil then cut out the circle with a pair of scissors (Image 1). Cover a 6" foam cone with black felt. Use hot glue to secure it and trim off excess felt around the bottom of the cone (Image 2). Use hot glue to attach the felt-covered cone to the brim (Image 3). As a finishing touch, create a buckle by placing a small square of gold glitter paper behind a small picture frame sticker, securing them both to the hat with hot glue (Image 4).

Finishing Touches

To create hair for your Halloween witch, remove one section of leaves from the center of a faux leaf garland. Use hot glue to secure the leafless section of garland to the top of the witch's head (Image 1). Finally, attach the hat to the top of her head with hot glue and wrap leaves around her "neck" to conceal the small bowl (Image 2).
