Streamlined Space

To highlight the historic windows in the long and rectangular space, an L-shaped perimeter design with no upper cabinets was used on the kitchen’s sink side. Designer Brian Patrick Flynn wanted to keep the whole kitchen streamlined and simple.

Classic Buffalo Check

The historic windows are covered with a classic navy blue and white gingham in large-scale pattern. The window treatments complement the kitchen’s Craftsman-style cabinets with inset doors sprayed a glossy shade of navy blue. A five-quart artisan design tilt-head stand mixer, a maple end-grain chopping block and a selection of cookbooks line the counter.

Powerful and Precise

The kitchen’s powerful 36-inch gas cooktop with wall mount hood above has a flexible burner that offers two independent heating elements that deliver intense heat and precise control, making it easy to quickly boil water or reduce the heat to a low simmer.
