Host Brian Patrick Flynn is in Johnson City, Tennessee to surprise the lucky winner of the HGTV® Smart Home 2023 sweepstakes, which includes a modern, Southwestern-style home in Santa Fe, an all-new, all-electric EQE Sedan from Mercedes-Benz and $100,000 cash.

Stacey Braswell, a dental office employee, lives in Kingsport, Tennessee with her husband Jonathan, daughter Piper and dog Willow. A longtime HGTV fan, Stacey has entered our home giveaway sweepstakes since she was 18 years old, relying on the daily email reminders to stay consistent. And the effort paid off! She was randomly chosen from over 89 million entries to be the lucky winner of a $2.2 million grand prize.

To pull off the ultimate winner surprise, HGTV producers reached out to the dental office where Stacey works to concoct an elaborate scheme. Stacey's boss Dr. Moore and his wife Tracy acted as our moles.

Stacey was told that a production company was coming to the dental office to shoot footage for a television show. Sitting at the receptionist's desk, she was instructed to deliver one line when the cameras turned her way.

Dr. Moore asked Stacey's husband and daughter to stand in as waiting room "extras." Little did they know that they were the real stars of the show.

When host Brian Patrick Flynn broke from the script, Stacey was caught off guard.

Brian asked Stacey, Jonathan and Piper to join him in front of the receptionist's desk before surprising them with the news of a lifetime!

"It still doesn't feel real," said Stacey. "You never think you’re going to win, but somebody has to … and it was us!"

Not only did Stacey win this brand-new, Southwestern-style home in Santa Fe, but she's also the lucky winner of an all-new, all-electric EQE Sedan from Mercedes-Benz and $100,000 cash — a prize package valued at $2.2 million.

Although she's never been to Santa Fe, Stacey says she's excited to see the house in person. "I love the privacy and how much space there is to entertain," she said, noting that the Japanese soaking tub and the rooftop entertainment area were her two favorite features of the home.
