Modern and Unexpected

White upholstered chairs feel fresh and modern while illuminated letters add a fun flair to this corner of the game room.

Statement Piece

A closer look at this statement light fixture from the home’s second-floor landing shows the machine parts and gears that make up this ode-to-Pittsburgh piece. “It’s a representation of machine parts, which kind of speaks to the past, and bicycle gears, which speaks to where they are now,” says designer Tiffany Brooks. “They’re slowly becoming one of the healthiest cities in America.”

Height and Drama

Hollywood Regency-style globe lights add a glamorous touch to the master bedroom. The white globes and brass finish draw the eye up to emphasize the room’s generous height.

The Room's Jewelry

A stunning black metal-and-glass chandelier over the dining table is a luxe touch of bling. “I feel like it’s a little bit more glamorous, but still it screams ‘industrial’ to me, so I felt like it was an amazing statement piece in that room,” says designer Tiffany Brooks.

Timeless Accent

Two oil-rubbed bronze, art deco-inspired sconces flank the large portrait in the dining room. The fixtures’ spherical globes add a striking contrast against the square-paneled wall.

Study in Contrast

In the great room, the modern gold light fixture above the fireplace adds a hint of sparkle without taking up too much visual space. The soft, white upholstered furniture and gray-washed wood floors reflect the natural light from the surrounding windows and add an airy frame to the faux-metal fireplace.

Touch of Glam

Vintage-style elongated wall sconces with brass and alabaster feature LED sources that diffuse the light for a warm, even ambiance. These stylish sconces are part of HGTV Smart Home 2020’s overall lighting design that uses energy-efficient LED lights that consume up to 90% less power than incandescent bulbs.

Triangular Chandeliers

Twin chandeliers over the kitchen island feature bold linear lines that form an eye-catching pyramid structure. The fixtures include four candelabra holders with a silvery sheen that make the lights shine even brighter.

Illuminating Forms

A pair of modern globe pendants adds to the variety of shapes and patterns present in the kitchen and breakfast nook area.

Industrial Meets Vintage

This eye-catching light fixture has angled arms holding candelabras with reflective seeded-glass discs reminiscent of a pre-electric chandelier. It may be vintage inspired, but its black-metal finish and clean lines make it totally 21st-century modern-industrial design.

Dramatic Fixture

The study’s dramatic black metal chandelier has symmetrical metal tubes that create a glamorous and stylish light fixture that casts a glow over the room.

Modern Industrial Lighting

Designer Tiffany Brooks incorporated a funky industrial-modern ceiling fixture with upturned globes to add indirect light that complements the task lighting built into the cabinets.

Mod Lighting

A white triple-globe light fixture pops against the charcoal-gray ceiling and walls, adding to the room’s hip and edgy personality.

Latest in Lighting

On top of the nightstand a table lamp is paired with a programmable sleep and wake-up light-therapy lamp that can help a child fall asleep, serve as a nightlight, and wake up them up slowly and gently.

Focal-Point Lighting

This four-light pendant chandelier with rope-like detailing in steel with a white finish has a light and airy feel that fits this cheery, contemporary kid’s bedroom.

Bedside Sconces

Instead of standard table lamps, designer Tiffany Brooks used dual longneck sconces to illuminate each side of the bed. Using sconces frees up floor space and eliminates the need for large nightstands.

Front Porch

The welcoming front porch is illuminated with a four-light Arts and Crafts-style chandelier. The metal-and-glass fixture stands out against the tongue-and-groove ceiling on the overhang and lends a charming touch to the entry.

Elevated Elegance

An industrial-modern chandelier in between six programmable skylights draws the eye up to highlight the wood-paneled vaulted ceiling.
