Travertine-style porcelain tile clads floors and wall surfaces in the master bathroom, lending a sandy beach style to the interior.

A nearly 2-foot-deep soaking tub tucked under two picture windows offers a spa-style bathing experience. A loofah, natural sponge and natural-bristle body brush are among bathtime accessories.

A Roman tub faucet comes complete with a hand shower. The sleek chrome finish and Euro styling offers a nice foil to the room's more classic shapes and forms.

Designer roller shades in a man-made material that mimics the look of natural sisal provide privacy and complement the room's collection of compelling textures.

In keeping with the home's emphasis on uncomplicated Zen interiors, a clear glass shower surround provides an unobstructed view of the porcelain tile-clad stall.

A frosted glass door encases the room's water closet, offering privacy and a contrast to adjacent clear glass doors.

German cabinetry in a matte lacquer finish offers undercounter storage. Bar handles mimic the lines of inset panel doors.

Iron sconces, assembled over the vanity mirror, lend a rustic touch.

Footed and etched glass hurricanes in a saturated shade of tidal blue connect the space to its seaside location. A shadowbox installation, crafted by carpenter David Brown, houses cast-resin coral forms purchased at a shop in Kiawah Island's Fresh Fields village.

The four-drawer scalloped chest — a storage unit for undergarments and linens — is topped with a collection of faux mercury-glass candlesticks. A starfish study blends seamlessly into tiled walls. "We have that wonderful alcove between the shower and the tub and it said to me, 'Put something here,'" says interior designer Linda Woodrum.

A suede-covered ottoman cozies up to the soaking tub and keeps cotton Matelassé towels and Italian artisan-made soaps close at hand.

"The room felt very connected to the outside location," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "Very beachy, spa like and calming. And that's such a good mix for a master bathroom."

A four-setting hand shower perches on a tile-clad column. A single-setting, rain-can showerhead offers a full-body spray.

Nestled in a tiled shelf insert, bath salts and vegetable-based soap lend spa luxury to the shower experience.

The shower floor, clad in porcelain micro tile, provides visual interest and an additional layer of texture in the spa-style master suite bathroom.
