A Feast for the Eyes
As if the canopy bed in the master bedroom weren't dreamy enough, take a peek inside the master bathroom of HGTV Dream Home 2009. At the end of the long, narrow room sits a grand Victorian-style tub, offset by gleaming hardwood floors. "It certainly looks great in its own little spot," interior designer Linda Woodrum observes. "It really makes you want to jump right in and take a nice long bath."
A Calming Tone
A treat for the eyes, the bathroom's neutral palette pleases Linda. "I think a bathroom is a great place to hold the color down," she adds. "It is very difficult to put on makeup or really see how you look in the mirror if you are surrounded by strong color. A subtle, neutral color scheme goes a long way in a bathroom."
Elegance at Every Turn
Surrounded by custom cabinetry, each sink is dressed with fresh flowers, an olive topiary, candles and luxury soaps. Oversized mirrors, fitted inside weathered wood frames and suspended from the ceiling, overlap the existing expanse of mirror. Why double mirrors? "It adds a bit of charm and makes the story more fun," Linda explains.
A Softer Side
A top-tier cabinet shelf, accented with elegant braided corbels, is home to fluffy white bath towels.
A Touch of Luster
Victorian-style bathroom fixtures in muted silver tones complement the color palette and play well with the cabinet's eye-catching glass knobs.
A Fresh Approach
Tight bunches of flowers, arranged in small glass vases, add subtle bursts of color on the countertop and give the space a romantic feel.
Soothing the Soul
Soak by candlelight! The Victorian-style slipper tub, paired with a gooseneck faucet, is the perfect place to slip away and unwind.
Private Time
When designing the bathroom, the needs of a couple including privacy where taken into consideration. The door to the water closet, which includes both a toilet and bidet, can be closed while the shower, bath or sink is in use.
Passage to Relaxation
Open the glass door to the spa-style shower, and stress relief is just steps away.
Steam Stress Away
The custom water-saving shower system includes a hand shower, plus a rain-can showerhead and four body sprays, which offer a warm massage-like experience. A built-in shower bench allows the user to sit back, relax and enjoy a steam treatment.
One Last Peek
Let the sunshine in or close the blinds and enjoy a little piece of paradise.
