Christmas at the Biden's
Number One Observatory Circle, the home of Vice President Joe and Dr. Jill Biden, gets a beautiful and elegant holiday transformation. The 19th century, Queen Anne-style house is decked out with giant wreaths hanging from the windows and lighted trees. This year's theme, reflected throughout the home's Christmas decor, is "Holidays Past and Present."
Reception Hall
Just inside the front door, the Reception Hall serves as a warm holiday welcome to guests. The main tree shares this year's holiday theme through handmade and repurposed ornaments.
Reception Hall With Dr. Jill Biden
Dr. Jill Biden stands in front of the Reception Hall tree, greeting exclusive holiday guests into her home. Reflecting the theme of "Holidays Past and Present," the tree is decorated with miniature portraits of past vice presidents, from John Adams and Dick Cheney to Al Gore and current Vice President Joe Biden.

These vice presidential portrait paintings were done by elementary through high school art students in Georgia to celebrate the home's holiday theme.

Christmas stockings for each family member, including dog Champ, hang along the fresh magnolia leaf garland wrapping the Reception Hall's mantelpiece.

Much like the first dog Bo decor throughout the White House, designers created a replica of the Biden's German shepherd, Champ, using strips of burlap and an evergreen collar. (Do you see the real Champ? He's busy snoozing on the stairwell landing.)

Fresh evergreen wreaths and garland entwined with gold ribbon and pinecones adorn the library's wall and mantel. Seasonal throw pillows with holiday sayings add a festive touch to the room's rich furnishings.

On loan from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., a portrait of former President John F. Kennedy by Jamie Wyeth hangs above the mantel. The room's bookshelves are filled with photos of the vice president's home from years past to celebrate the theme of "Holidays Past and Present."

An assortment of hardcover books are stacked in the shape of a miniature Christmas tree and decorated with old-fashioned string lights in the home's library.

The book tree's topper, a repurposed star made from old book pages, is held up by President Biden's published memoir, "Promises to Keep." Laying just below is Dr. Jill Biden's book, "Don't Forget, God Bless Our Troops."
Living Room
Lighted garlands, boxwood wreaths and a hand-crafted nativity scene dress up the living room.
Living Room
The living room features a bow window with views of the veranda and backyard. Decorators add fresh greenery swag to each window and a dish of silver pinecones atop the piano.
Dining Room
The traditional red and green colors of Christmas are represented in the dining room through fresh flowers, poinsettias, an evergreen tree and clippings decorating the mantel, chandelier and table.

The table's elegant floral centerpiece is made of red roses, red amaryllis and fresh winter greenery.
