Leanne Ford’s Go-to PPG Paint Shades and How She Uses Them

Leanne Ford just launched a new paint collection with PPG that's making the design process so much easier. Plus, it's really pretty.

When asked to describe her new collection with PPG in one word, the answer rolls quickly out of Leanne Ford’s mouth: effortless.

"Effortless and easy — everything I believe interior design should be," the designer and Restored by the Fords host tells HGTV.com.

The collection — available at Home Depot — is comprised of 14 of Leanne’s go-to PPG paint shades that, unsurprisingly, she’s used on the walls of her own home. And in the name of taking effortless design to a whole new level, Leanne went one step further and created tri-color palettes with the paints from her collection.

So, if you’ve been stewing over which tones to use in your own home, worry no more! Ahead we have a few of Leanne’s picks from her PPG collection and tips on how to use them in your space.

The Paint

Delicate White, PPG

How Leanne Used It

Here, Leanne’s client wanted bold, so she painted the cabinets Holly Glen by PPG, then balanced it all out with Delicate White from her collection. The result: a sweet, totally homey kitchen with just the right amount of color.

Leanne’s palette pro tip: Pair Delicate White with Bold Brandy and Never Green for a refined, yet casual space.

Silver Feather, PPG

How Leanne Used It

This cozy living room designed by Leanne embodies her PPG City Cottage palette, which features neutrals from the collection. To recreate this cozy look, pick a neutral hue (here, Leanne chose Silver Feather, but Tundra Frost is another versatile shade she recommends), and pair it with darker browns and beiges. For this particular color story, Leanne drew inspiration from Phantom Mist and Elephant Gray. Voila! Your city cottage — complete with rustic touches — is ready.

Pure White, PPG

How Leanne Used It

Enter Leanne’s favorite white paint ever (yes, ever). The queen of neutral had a lot to say about why PPG’s Pure White — used here in a modern dining room — is her go-to.

"There’s no tint to it," she tells HGTV.com. "It’s super clean, super modern and works with any style. It makes me so happy."

Leanne’s palette pro tip: Pair Pure White with contrasting Suntan and Black Flame for a soft, subtle look.

Romeo, PPG

How Leanne Used It

PPG Shade Romeo is the dusty pink gem of Leanne’s collection. Here, she used it to highlight the rounded shape of a kitchen doorframe.

For a more modern look, Leanne recommends pulling black or deep gray (a shade like Starless night) into your design. "Recently, we used Romeo on bar stools in front of a navy-blue kitchen island."

Feeling bold? Experiment with a monochromatic look and try Romeo with Suntan.

Willow Springs, PPG

How Leanne Used It

Fresh, welcoming Willow Springs looks especially inviting in a kitchen, as pictured. Here, Leanne infused color into the room with a blue island and geometric flooring. Alternatively also suggests spicing up Willow Springs in the kitchen with millennial pink artwork, natural woods or marble countertops.

Leanne’s palette pro tip: Pair Willow Springs with Gibraltar Gray and Romeo for a clean, lived-in aesthetic.

Night Watch, PPG

How Leanne Used It

Leanne fell in love with PPG’s 2019 color of the year Night Watch — used here on the walls of a classic dining room. While this rich green is definitely striking, it acts as a neutral when paired with other lighter shades.

Leanne’s palette pro tip: Balance out Night Watch with Silver Feather or Elusion for a "new neutral" space.
