Blue and White Dining Room With Floral Wallpaper

A classic navy-and-white color combination is taken to gorgeous new heights in this dining room. Blue wallpaper with an oversized floral pattern is a bold splash of pattern, tempered by the white lower half of the walls. To bring in more sophistication, the designer chose a dining set from Magnussen. Rug: Jill Zarin

BEFORE: Dining Room

Blue Transitional Dining Room With Gray Buffet

Over this dining table, the designer hung a brass and bronze chandelier. The round mirror (a Target find) is also brass. Ginger jars and an orchid complete the buffet tableau.

Foyer With Green Front Door

Lots of white in this home called for a strong dose of color. Answer: an emerald green front door! Textured grasscloth wallpaper in the foyer's panels provides another note of contrast.

BEFORE: Entry and Stairs

Foyer Stairs With Walnut Railing

Can you believe these tasteful stairs were once orange? To transform them, the designer sanded the handrails and stained them with a dark walnut stain. Stairs and spindles got a coat of fresh paint, Benjamin Moore Simply White, that matches the hallway walls.

Neutral Kitchen With Oak Island

Part of this kitchen's visual interest comes from its layering of different woods: a dark wood floor and an island finished with oak. Over the island, an unusual vintage pendant light with a brass stripe around its middle is another eye catcher.

BEFORE: Kitchen

While this kitchen is really outdated, the layout of it is perfect, and the cabinets are in excellent condition.

White Transitional Kitchen With Stainless Microwave

This kitchen doesn't come with a lot of natural light, so to make it feel brighter, the designer went with all-white cabinetry, quartz countertops and a light-colored backsplash. Wood floors and the island's oak finish bring in warmth.

White Kitchen With Rolling Pin

A graceful basket weave pattern decorates this kitchen's marble-and-limestone backsplash. Cabinet hardware is vintage bronze, picking up the backsplash's earth tones.

White Transitional Kitchen With Floral Shade

In this kitchen makeover, designers decided to go basic (and affordable) with the cabinetry, replacing old doors and painting them bright white. The more luxurious touches were saved for the marble-and-limestone backsplash, new appliances and lighting. The pendant over the sink is vintage bronze with brass accents.

White Kitchen With Blue Floral Shade

The blue floral shade on the window over the sink brings in the colors found in the dining room nearby. Countertops are bright white quartz.

White Kitchen With Oak Island

To add to this kitchen's practical features, the island was extended to provide more storage and was given a pull-out waste basket. The blue floral wallpaper spotted in the adjacent dining room is echoed by a similar patterned shade over the kitchen sink.

BEFORE: Living Room

Green Transitional Living Room With Tree Wallpaper

To bring the outdoors into this living room, the designer chose a soft green for the wall color and added an accent wall with a tree pattern. The vertical tree trunks have the added visual benefit of making the ceiling feel higher.

Brown Fireplace With Reclaimed Wood Mantel

The fireplace in the living room was completely redesigned. The surround was created with smooth brown limestone. Tiny limestone tiles decorate the top of the bench; the designer positioned them herself to make their varying shades as harmonious as possible. The mantel is reclaimed wood.

Green Transitional Living Room With Limestone Fireplace

A fireplace that was once an eyesore is now the heart of this living room, redesigned with a limestone tile surround. The reclaimed wood mantel balances out the stone's smooth finish.

Green Transitional Living Room With Gray Chair

This home is surrounded by woods out in the country, so the living room's pale green walls are a nod to the setting. The rest of the space features a mix of calm, relaxing neutrals.

BEFORE: Master Bedroom

Neutral Master Bedroom With Blue Armchair

The wallpaper and upholstered bed take this master bedroom in an Art Deco direction. At the foot of the bed, a faux leather trunk adds much-needed storage. And for color, a teal Fairfield armchair and ottoman were the ideal splurge.

Teal accents brighten up this master bedroom's many browns. A striking black pendant light pulls the Art Deco wallpaper's pattern out into the space. Rug: Jill Zarin Rug collection; Lamps: Uttermost

Black and White Master Bathroom With Black Floor

For the masculine look the designer wanted for this master bathroom, a black vanity with gold accents was the perfect fit. Black slate tile on the floor continues the bold color story.

White Master Bathroom With Black Floor

Lots of white (and pretty gold accents) helped solve this small master bathroom's problem of feeling dark and closed in. For a touch of drama, floors are black slate.

Walk In Shower With Gold Tile

The designer selected gold glass pencil tiles to accent the white porcelain backsplash tile in this master bathroom's new walk-in shower.

BEFORE: Guest Bedroom

Shabby Chic Guest Bedroom With Storage Bench

The wallpaper behind the bed in this romantic bedroom features a nature-inspired print, aqua vines climbing a cream-colored background. The rug picks up the same palette, a chic layer in a larger-scale pattern.

Cream Shabby Chic Guest Bedroom With Blue Desk

The antique secretary was the design inspiration for this bedroom's aqua-and-cream palette and feminine feel. Wallpaper in the same pretty hues decorates the wall behind the bed. And lots of curves layer in softness.

BEFORE: Home Office

Transitional Home Office With Map Wallpaper

In creating this home office for her husband, the designer covered one accent wall in wallpaper with a repeating map pattern. An animal skin rug continues the adventurous theme. The desk and light fixtures are simple wood and brass to balance out the other elements.
