Beach House Overlooks Carolina Marsh

Located just outside of Charleston, S.C., this beautiful beach house features a front lawn defined by native sweetgrass and dwarf papyrus. These plants not only soften the home's exterior, but also evoke the texture and movement of the marsh in the distance.

Concrete Walkway Offers Modern Touch

A clean concrete path both highlights the home's dramatic entrance and puts a modern twist on its coastal style. To increase visibility at night, landscape architect J.R. Kramer layered the walkway with sconces and other lights.

Breezeway Leads Right to the Water

Following that concrete path leads visitors to a wood landing, where they can either go upstairs or continue straight ahead to the water. This breezeway also accommodates ocean winds and allows for proper aeration.
