A repeat client gave Chango &. Co. complete control over redesigning a five-bedroom beach house on a 10-week timeline. Tasked with developing a fun environment that inspires joy and play, Chango created a colorful, pattern-filled home with surprises around every corner.

Yellow and black provide punchy contrast to the sleek, white of the kitchen. The color scheme creates a playful atmosphere and relates well to dining room's pineapple print.

Bold yellow letters add a whimsical touch and pop against the clean, white wall and shelf. Because the home focuses on fun and play, beverages are kept out on the counter, ready to be enjoyed, rather than stashed out of sight.

Casual Dining Vibes

Mismatched seating adds to the playful, casual vibe in the breakfast nook. The natural materials used for the bench and chairs is balanced out by the mint green end chairs and bright yellow, lantern-style pendant lights.

A rustic bench and hooks at heights for both adults and kids helps corral all of the accoutrements that come with spending a day at by the ocean.

The natural materials and colors in the furniture, rug and window coverings create a serene setting and hint at the tones of the nearby sand and surf.

Bringing the Outdoors In

A coffee table topped with succulents offer additional natural touches, while brightly colored woven chairs mimic the look of beach chairs.

Coloring Time

A low-profile table provides the perfect coloring station for the homeowners' three children. The table features a low shelf, creating a perfect spot to stash coloring books, markers and crayons when not in use.

Serene Sleep

The master bedroom is set for serene dreaming, thanks to the layers of neutral furnishings and linens. A natural grass rug grounds the space, while soft textures are added in the upholstered bed and bench, linen curtains and colorful throw pillows. Antique-inspired dressers take the place of nightstands, providing extra storage.

Serious Play

Chango and Co. created every child's dream play space in the expansive playroom. Floor mattresses line one wall and are topped with playful throw pillows for crashing, a teepee provides a place for dreaming, and rope swings hang from the ceiling for extra fun.

Crossed With Style

The crisp white walls boast a Swiss cross pattern and are trimmed in black to highlight the architectural details of the room.

Pillow Heaven

The vibrant patterns on these custom pillows relate well to the pattern of the Swiss cross wall decals and the bold, yellow sconce lighting. The wall of cushions provides a place to cozy up and read or nap.

Easy Organization

A tight corner under a vaulted ceiling is the perfect spot for a play corner for the pint-sized family members. Hanging baskets provide a fun spot to stash stuffed animals, while floor cubbies provide more space for corraling toys while still keeping them in-sight and reachable for the small ones.

Flip-Flopped Design

A fun floral pattern covers this upholstered bed and topped with crisp, white linens to invert the expectation of patterned bed linens and a neutral bed. Blue, glass table lamps cool the warm colors of the fabric and pop against the white walls and nightstands.

A pair of bunk beds makes this the perfect spot for sleepovers. A fun black-and-white pattern is carried from the triangle wall decals to the graphic-print bedspreads and white, Danish-style furniture. Model airplanes are hung in a group from the ceiling to give this kids' room its own mini airshow.

Stash It In Style

Toy storage is kept easy and casual. Cubbies located at floor level make it easy for kids to put away their own toys when through with them, while higher shelves provide a spot to store things out of reach while allowing them to contribute to the fun style of the room.

Unexpected Art Arrangement

Bold artwork is given unexpected placement in the upper hallway with two pieces in the series located along the bottom of the wall and only one above. The resulting display is an attention-grabbing alternative to a more traditional gallery wall arrangement.
