Fall-ing for History

This Victorian has major fall fanfare: double front doors, lots of lattice, a stately color scheme and, most importantly, four Adirondack chairs to hunker down in on crisp Autumn nights. A shadblow serviceberry tree grows in the middle of the yard, while white marguerite daisies bloom to its left. And, of course, the 1871 structure deserves to show off its age with a super-cool "year built" plaque (you'll find it hanging to the left of the front door).

100 Years of Cozy

Hanging out on the deep porch of this 1920 Colonial never gets old for the family who lives here — especially in the fall. Charming details — brick steps, corbels and diamonds on the porch columns — kick up the curb appeal. Bright potted flowers add color.

Autumnal Elegance

This 1913 beauty screams fall year-round thanks to a muted, earthy color palette. Come October, however, orange foliage only amplifies its autumnal elegance. Pots on the steps contain eye-catching combos of yellow and fuchsia mums, spider plants, coleus and jasmine. The star of the show: Virginia creeper stretched across the stucco exterior (homeowners trim it annually).
