Unwrappable St. Patrick's Day Surprise Balls
It's all the fun of surprise balls with a St. Patrick's Day theme.
Materials Needed
- several rolls of crepe paper, including green, yellow and black
- clear tape
- hot glue gun and sticks
- black pipe cleaner
- gold pipe cleaner
- gold glitter spray paint
- tiny gifts like chocolate coins, keychain, stickers, temporary tattoos and bracelets
- optional: foam leprechaun hat
Wrap Gifts
Wrap the first gift in crepe paper until covered and you form a tiny ball. Add gifts as you continue wrapping. We added keychains, chocolate gold coins, bracelets, stickers and temporary tattoos. Alternate crepe paper by cutting and taping before starting the next color. Leave the dark green crepe paper for the outer layer.

Make a Leprechaun
Attach a strip of black crepe paper to the center of the ball with tape (Image 1). Bend gold pipe cleaner into a square shape. Apply a dot of hot glue on low setting to secure, and apply a couple dots of hot glue to attach to the ball (Image 2). Finally, apply hot glue to a foam leprechaun hat, and attach to the top of the ball (Image 3).

Make One for the Adults
Wrap adult-friendly gifts like a shot glass, bottle opener and airplane bottles (Image 1), and wrap the outer layer with yellow crepe paper. Spray paint the top half with gold glitter, and let dry (Image 2). Tape strips of black crepe paper on the non-glitter side until completely covered (Images 3 and 4). Create a C shape with black pipe cleaner, and stick each end into each side of the ball to make a pot of gold (Image 5). Adhere with a dot of hot glue.
