Turn Your Everyday Bedroom ...
A soft place to land at the end of the day, a cozy cocoon where you rest and recharge, and the spot where most of us catch up on emails, read a book or relax with a favorite movie: Bedrooms serve a lot of purposes. So, why do we often forget to decorate the room where we spend so much of our time?
... Into a Holiday Bedroom
Never thought of decorating your bedroom for Christmas? It's easy! We gave this bedroom a festive fix-up by swapping out the Euro pillow shams for cable-knit covers and adding a Fair Isle-inspired throw and lumbar pillow. Then, we swapped the mirror for a ready-made wreath and replaced the everyday bedside tchotchkes with vintage Christmas decorations.
Pop In a New Pillow
This guest bedroom, featured in HGTV Magazine, shows how just two additions can add up to a merry makeover. In her own home, blogger Sarah Hubbell added a handmade evergreen swag and a playful pillow to get this room ready for friends and family.

Include an Orchid
While we typically associate Christmas cactus, amaryllis and paperwhites with the holiday season, all blooms are welcome when brightening up a bedroom. For a blooming plant you can enjoy long after Christmas has come and gone, consider a phalaenopsis orchid. Sculptural and relatively low maintenance (once you master their unique requirements), these tropical natives stay in bloom for up to three months.
Or, Grow an Amaryllis
Available everywhere in the weeks leading up to the holiday season, amaryllis bulbs are most often sold, along with a pot, planting medium and instructions, as part of a kit. A fun project for all ages, planting and caring for an amaryllis bulb couldn't be easier — just follow the kit's included instructions. Then, over the course of six weeks, watch the flower spike push through the soil, then bloom. Amaryllis flowers typically bloom in stages with each individual trumpet-shaped bloom lasting two to three weeks.

Or, Hang a Wreath From the Footboard
No one is as jazzed for Christmas as kids. So, naturally, their rooms deserve a little holiday magic. The wreaths' paper construction ensures that a single, damage-free adhesive hook is all that's needed to hang them from the footboards.

And, Show Off Vintage Ornaments
Moravian stars have been a popular part of holiday decor, particularly for people of German descent, since the mid-1830s. Ranging from six points to more than a hundred, the typically 16- to 26-pointed stars are often seen as illuminated paper or glass lanterns. Many smaller papier-mâché ornament versions exist, often covered in German glass glitter. Small and sturdy, these antique ornaments are a beautiful way to add a little sparkle to a nightstand or dresser.
Fill a Corner With a Slim Tree
